A few years ago, I needed to make some very real changes in the way I was treating myself. I had no clue where to begin. I knew I needed to change my diet and start working out, but there were some major gaps. After I started JCS, my path crossed with Wilderness Athlete. Even though I have not reached my ultimate goals, I can say with all honesty, that WA has helped set my feet on the path they needed to be on to make those goals realistic.
Where I Started
When I began pursuing weight loss, endurance increase, and strength training, I knew it wasn’t something I could just try. I couldn’t begin training half way. I had to do it completely. So, I started looking at the 28 Day Challenge from WA. I made the investment shortly after beginning my new daily routine. Coupled with a drastically different diet (no soda, and major water intake increase), aerobic work, and daily strength training workout, I was able to drop 30 lbs in one month. That’s not the important part.
What was most important was that along with dropping 30lbs, I gained significant strength in every lift. My mile time was cut by several minutes. I wasn’t too sore to workout every day. The gaps in my diet and exercise from previous efforts had been filled by way of the various supplements contained in the 28 Day challenge.
But What Exactly Was Happening?
I tried losing weight before. I tried various dieting theories and fads. I had even tried changing my lifestyle and dieting habits in a more holistic way. Nothing seemed to work as efficiently. Even on days when I had horrible workouts, the progress continued. The nutrition gaps were being filled.
So What’s the Best Way to Begin?
This question is most easily answered with another question. How serious are you? If you were like me and need to jump in with both feet, then I would totally recommend purchasing the 28 Day Challenge. In my opinion, there’s no better way to introduce yourself to Wilderness Athlete.
If you are someone who simply wants to try this on, then I would recommend purchasing one of two products. First, Wilderness Athlete Hydrate and Recover. This is a simple, but extremely effective way to stay hydrated in the field or during your work day. The second option I would recommend is Energy and Focus. What I love about Energy & Focus is that it clears the cobwebs in your mind first thing in the morning, or it can get you past the 3:00 P.M. crash in the afternoon. It’s also awesome for those long November sits in the tree stand. Both of them come in a tub or packet form.
The Bigger Picture
What’s the bigger idea here? Supplements perform at their best when they are deployed to fill the gaps in an already healthy diet and exercise routine. Will they benefit you without adjusting your potentially bad eating or exercise habits? Yes. Will they benefit you as well? No.
If you truly desire a change that will allow you to be more physically efficient and effective in daily life and in the outdoors, it’s important to provide yourself the best opportunity possible for that improvement. If you will be committed, Wilderness Athlete will present you with an even better opportunity to see very real progress.
